CDMX Honeymoon.
The trip
You lift off before sunrise and drift over pyramids that have stood for eighteen centuries, the basket silent except for the burner. By evening you're on a rooftop with mezcal in hand as the jacarandas along Av. Ámsterdam turn gold. And one night, the tasting menu you've waited years to sit down for finally arrives, course by course.
A culture-, food- and romance-forward honeymoon in Mexico City — no beach. You stay in one walkable base and take day trips out, so you unpack once.
Book these immediately
- Pujol & Quintonil — Michelin-tier tables fill ~6 weeks out. Book first.
- Teotihuacán sunrise balloon — sells out weeks ahead, and the right operator matters more than the price. Operator in your plan
- Frida Kahlo Museum — timed tickets vanish 2–4 weeks out. We watch the release calendar so you don't have to.
- Cooking class & hacienda horseback — confirm 1–2 weeks out.
Your base
Stay in Roma Norte / Condesa — leafy, walkable, café-dense, and central to nearly everything on this plan. Tree-lined Av. Ámsterdam and Parque México are a two-minute stroll; dozens of restaurants and bars are within a 15-minute walk.
Days at a glance
One anchor per day, paced so the trip never feels like a checklist. Day 3 (Teotihuacán) is the hardest physical day, so Day 4 is deliberately lighter. Major museums close Mondays — that's why Day 2 is landmarks, not galleries. The full breakdown is in section 5.
Flights
From San Juan (SJU) → Mexico City (MEX), May 24–31. Prices are per-person round-trip for two adults.
Cheapest of the three. Longer layover — fine if you're optimizing purely on price.

Two days, up close
Day 3 — the anchor
You leave the city in the dark and meet the balloon as the sky starts to grey. At first light you're floating over the Pyramid of the Sun, the whole valley gold beneath you, a champagne toast at the landing. Then breakfast inside a centuries-old cave near the pyramids, before the ruins themselves. By mid-afternoon you're back, and the rest of the day is yours.
Day 6 — cooking class + Pujol
The morning is hands-on: a market visit, masa ground by hand, salsas, and a full sit-down meal of everything you cook. You rest in the afternoon, then the evening belongs to Pujol — the tasting-menu centerpiece of the trip, nothing stacked against it so nothing feels rushed. Along the way: the taco crawl locals argue about, and a bar ranked among the world's 50 best — skip the line by going when we tell you.
What we handle
The reservations we secure
- Michelin tables — Pujol & Quintonil fill ~6 weeks out. We book them the day your dates lock.
- The sunrise balloon — the right operator and the pickup time that beats the crowds, held before it sells out.
- Frida Kahlo Museum — timed tickets vanish 2–4 weeks out. We watch the release and grab yours.
- Cooking class & hacienda day — confirmed 1–2 weeks ahead, around everything else.
How we pace it
- One anchor per day — a single marquee experience, never stacked, so nothing feels rushed.
- Day 3 is the hardest — the pre-dawn Teotihuacán start is the physical peak of the trip.
- Day 4 recovers — deliberately lighter the day after, with dinner as the only fixed point.
- Mondays are landmarks — major museums close, so Day 2 is the Historic Center, galleries come later.
